We are the NIK.
We invent and introduce technological solutions and innovations in agriculture. Our mission
is to make field work precise and efficient.
We see the automation in agriculture as next step, so this is why our focus is on autonomous farming equipment and solutions.
Our main focus in South Africa are the agricultural drones. In their face we see the future of the modern agriculture – better application and better traceability of the applied chemicals.
Our main challenge is to translate progress in the field into the language of farmers by putting complete smart solutions in their hands to convince them of the advantages of the combination of farming and technology.
A few words from farmers who choose to trust us…
I studied the market and decided on the XAG P100 Pro, from NIK, as it has a lot of advantages over other drones and the price/quality ratio is quite good. With the drone, we will be able to spray as much as we need to without squashing the crop and we will be able to spray in the evening to protect the bees.
The challenges for our farm were to optimize the spraying, so we decided to purchase an agricultural drone XAG P100Pro. In the beginning we had concerns about performance and control, but very quickly we got used to working with the drone and saw that with it we could increase spraying productivity and optimize spraying time, as this is one of the most important operations in farming.
We produce mainly organic cucumbers for the European market. The big challenge for us and our glass greenhouse is to cover it in order to reduce solar radiation. For more than 50 years, we have been using agricultural aircrafts to shade them, which is inefficient. Recently we have switched to a new technology using a drone where we can make route optimisation and fly at an optimal distance from the roof, which makes shading very efficient.
